Keep Your Kids Fit Whether They Participate in Sports or Not!
How our Doctor of Fitness Fit Kids Training Programs Can Help Your Child Stay in Great Shape While Teaching Him or Her the Benefits of Exercise!
In case you didn’t know it already, today’s kids are increasingly subject to developing health issues related to inactivity and poor eating habits. Additionally, distractions such as video games and television do nothing to help kids keep active. Here are some stats for you to consider.
#1 – The average youth eats their BODY WEIGHT in SUGAR each year
#2 – The average youth spends over 7 ½ hours/day watching TV, on the computer, or phone texting
#3 – One in three teenagers is either overweight or obese
#4 – Children NOT participating in sports get on average less than 60 minutes of exercise each week
Exercise is an important life component for any child. Although sports are a great form of activity, they don’t offer the specific benefits a customized exercise program will for your children. A customized exercise program has many benefits as described below:
#1 – Regular strength training boosts bone density, decreasing the risk of fractures.
#2 – Exercise improves blood flow to the brain – improving memory, concentration, and performance in school.
#3 – Exercise reduces body fat, boosts metabolism, and decreases the risk of obesity.
#4 – Exercise helps kids feel better and have more energy.
The All-Access Fitness Academy and Doctor of Fitness are proud to offer our Fit Kids Program, designed for children 8-12 years old. This eight week program runs two or three days per week depending on your child's schedule.
During our Fit Kids Program experienced trainers will put your child through workouts designed to get them into shape as well as teach them about different areas of strength and endurance training.
During each 60-minute workout, your child will use a variety of equipment such as agility ladders, bands, as well as free weights. He or she will gain speed, endurance, strength, agility, and will have FUN! All participants will receive handouts on how to live a healthier and active lifestyle.
This program was designed by the Doctor of Fitness, Lee A. Mancini, MD, CSCS*D, CSN, a certified Sports Medicine physician, certified strength and conditioning specialist with distinction.
